Grammy Award-winning songwriter, Jeff Silbar, wrote and arranged the song, "Goodbye" which is the Trailer Song for
the short film “A Pornographer” -- the controversial and alarming, fact-based story of excessive internet
porn listings—over 100 a day in Los Angeles alone-- for porn actresses which may, or may not, be fraudulent casting
sessions.
"A Pornographer" Executive Producer Todd Johnson is very excited about Silbar's participation in the making of the provocative short film. Johnson explains, "The song Jeff wrote and arranged for us called "Goodbye" really completed the film; our soundtrack guru, Bruce Sugar, coupled with Jeff's haunting song really provides the perfect undertone for our film and its ending!" Prior to lending his extraordinary songwriting talents to "A Pornographer," Silbar is most well known for his Grammy win for his song “Wind Beneath My Wings” which was voted Song of the Year by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). Bette Midler and Arif Mardin also received Record of the Year Grammy's for Bette’s version of the song. To this date “Wind” has received 7 ASCAP pop awards, including a Song of the Century award, and was recognized as one of the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest Movie Songs. Recently, Jeff co-wrote “What Goes Around” the opening theme to the hit NBC show My Name Is Earl. Another of Jeff’s songs “Ride of Your Life” became the end title for the Warner Bros. film What a Girl Wants and is featured in the ESPN biography The Dale Earnhardt Story. “Wind Beneath My Wings” was also featured in the Dreamworks animated blockbuster Shark Tale. His song “She Can’t Burn Me Now’ was recorded by the Del McCoury Band. Silbar has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International as Songwriter of the Year. He has earned more than thirty ASCAP awards for their most performed pop and country songs. His songs have been recorded by such artists as John Mellencamp (“China Girl” from American Fool, triple platinum), Fleetwood Mac (single “Hard Feelings” from Behind the Mask, platinum), and Kenny Rogers (“Goodnight Man” from The Gambler), quadruple platinum), as well as a host of others including Sheena Easton, Gladys Knight, Dolly Parton, Poco, Willie Nelson, and Alabama (1 single). Other recordings include artists like Johnny Lang, Reba McEntire, Levert, Wynonna, and Blackhawk. Jeff has worked with a number of the industries largest music publishers, including Sony Music, Warner-Chappell, and House of Gold Music, and is responsible as a publisher for many hit recordings. His songs have also been featured many times in films and on television. |
